The general
The entire NOx sensor consists of both the sensor probe and theelectronic control unit(ECU), which are connected by a wiring harness.
1) the sensor probe
the core part is the ceramic chip, which is a high sintering substance made of both zirconia ceramic sheets and many kinds of sensitive electrodes, through the multilayer ceramic process and the electrochemistry theory. The chip is encapsulated orderly by a metal shell and ceramic sealing parts. Then, the probe is done.
2) The ECU
It’s consist of a PCB、electronic components and hulls outside. It providespower for heating the sensor probe to operate the temperature, voltage and the current, to ensure the correct working of all oxygen pump units of the ceramic chip, then to determin the concentration of NOx and oxygen by measuring signals in all functional areas, at last the gas concentration is digitally reported via the CAN system.
